A: Compendium does not accept unsolicited proposals or manuscripts. If you are interested in getting your work published, you can find information and useful resources on websites such as Literary Market Place or Writer’s Digest to help with your project. We wish you the very best in your endeavors.

A: We love working with influencers and members of the press. For any press inquiries, please email us at Be sure to include your mailing address, which product you are interested in, and where the review will be published.

A: If you would like to use our art, email us at Please include which title(s) you are interested in, what specific material in the book you would like to use, and how you would like to use the material (be as specific as possible). We will respond to your request within 2 to 4 weeks.

A: We’re committed to supporting educators as they find new ways to connect with their students. We’re happy to grant permission to teachers and librarians for live streaming or posting videos of themselves reading our children’s books out loud, provided it is done on a noncommercial basis.

If you do post or stream a live reading, we ask that you contact us and provide the following information:

  • Name and address of your school or library
  • Title of the book that is being read
  • Your contact information
  • The video platform you are using and a link to the reading

Finally, we would love to see your read-alouds in action! Please tag @compendiumliveinspired on your social media posts so we can follow along.

A: Because being environmentally conscious is an important value at Compendium, all of our gifts and books are printed with soy inks, and we also use FSC®-certified paper for every greeting card. Our Positively Green, Frank & Funny, and Love Muchly greeting cards are all printed at a press that gets its energy from wind power.

A: Giving back to our community is an important part of our company values, and we support the efforts of various nonprofit organizations throughout the year. We've designated a portion of the profits from our Positively Green cards to benefit organizations working to protect the environment.

A: Please submit your donation request through this form(Opens an external site). Be sure to include all of the following information:

  • A detailed description of your organization or event
  • The name or type of items you’re seeking and the quantity you’re requesting
  • The date the items are needed by
  • Documentation proving organization and/or tax exemption status within any given state.

Requests are granted on a case-by-case basis and depend on available inventory and resources. We receive a high volume of requests and carefully consider each one. After receiving your request, a customer service representative will reach out to you.


A: Compendium specializes in gift books, guest books, children’s books, notebooks and journals, greeting cards, boxed note cards, social stationery, and pop-open cards.

A: Yes, we can add customized elements to many of our products when ordered in large quantities. Depending on your project’s needs, the customization will be completed in-house or through a business partner.

Customizations we handle in-house depend on the particular product, but generally start at 5,000 units for books and 250,000 units for loose ThoughtFulls pop-open cards.

A: We print paper catalogs for wholesale customers only. However, our entire line of products is available for you to order online.

A: Yes, we are happy to assist you with your retail purchase over the phone. Just call our customer service department at 800.914.3327 and press 0 to speak with an associate. For your convenience, we also offer the option to shop online. Retail orders placed on our website are processed as quickly as orders placed over the phone.

A: Unfortunately, we do not offer gift note and gift-wrapping at this time. We recommend visiting our friends at bumble B design to send a preselected package or to customize your own.

A: Because we process our orders immediately, we are not able to modify or change an order after it is placed. If you would like to add to your order, you will need to place a separate order on the website. If you have questions about your order, please email customer service at or call us at 800.914.3327. Thank you for your understanding.

A: If there is an item on your order that sells out before we can fulfill the order, we will issue a refund for that item. You will be notified that the item is out of stock, and any other items on your order will ship as requested. We currently do not backorder out-of-stock items for retail orders.

A: Our products are carried by a variety of local gift shops as well as some national retail stores, such as Papyrus, Cost Plus, and Paper Source. To find the retailer nearest you, please visit our Store Locator page. We cannot be certain which of our products a given store carries, so please contact the store nearest you for product availability.

A: Bulk discounts are available; they start at a quantity of 50 of the same item.

A: Compendium accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Customers can also use Apple Pay, PayPal, and Amazon Pay.

A: Yes, all of the pages that process credit card information are secured and encrypted. Secure website pages begin with “https” and have a small lock icon in the address bar. When you navigate to those pages from, you will receive a dialog box explaining, “You are about to go to a secure page.” Compendium does not sell or rent its customers’ names or personal information for any reason.

A: Yes. For orders shipping to Canada and additional international destinations, we have partnered with Simply add any items you wish to purchase in your shopping cart, go to view your cart, and choose the “International Checkout” option. The global checkout page will allow you to see the cost for shipping and duties and taxes upfront. You may prepay duties and taxes when you check out or, pay upon delivery. If you prepay, there will be no additional funds collected upon delivery. GlobalShopex handles the international checkout and shipping, and will process your payment and guarantee delivery. A: All U.S. orders of $50 or more ship free!* And orders under $50 ship for just $5. Orders are shipped via ground service unless otherwise selected at checkout.

We offer two expedited shipping options: next-day delivery and 2-day delivery. Rates are based on package weight and destination. For more details on expedited shipping, click here.

A: When you place your order online, you will automatically receive an email from us confirming your order. We process and ship all retail orders within 2 business days from our warehouse in Everett, Washington.

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a second email with your tracking number.

A: For retail orders, Compendium accepts returns of unused items within 30 days of receipt. Once we receive your returned product, we will issue a full refund less the original shipping costs. No restocking fees will be charged.
