Compendium Retailer Spotlight: Finestra Gallery

1

The holidays can often feel like a scavenger hunt for that unique and memorable gift, a gift that says, “I see you, I know you, and I want to celebrate all that you are.” Finestra Gallery in historic downtown Willoughby, Ohio, works to add awe and ease to this seasonal search. Since 2002, Finestra has been offering customers thoughtfully crafted, trend-forward items. Many of their gifts are designed and created by artists, so you’re bound to come across something that is one of a kind.

Lisa Longo, the owner of Finestra Gallery, works tirelessly to cultivate this terrific selection of gifts for her shop. We asked her to tell us more about the gallery and what she hopes customers will experience when they visit.

Can you tell us a bit about what you hope to bring to your community through your presence?

Our store is a specialty boutique in Northwest Ohio, and we are definitely a destination shop. When you walk in, you'll find items handcrafted by artists, from jewelry and pottery to wall art and glassware. I really try to find things first before they are everywhere, but we also carry things that are familiar that customers come back for again and again, like Compendium!

What types of products will a shopper find in your store?

Finestra specializes in gorgeous jewelry, baby and kids’ gifts, and special gifts at every price point. Everyone loves our cards!

What do you hope people will experience as they browse?

I love when my customers comment that they can always find the perfect gift, whether it’s just a little something or something very special. I would like to think that my customers come into my shop to give gifts that are treasured.

Tell us about the neighborhood where your store is located.

Our neighborhood is like the one in the movie It’s a Wonderful Life, especially at the holidays. Very charming. We are located in a historic downtown area, so we’re frequently right in the middle of whatever event is happening. For example, our Willo Boo community trick-or-treating event brings hundreds of children! The holiday tree lighting is also so fun, and this year we have a spectacular front window, with an interactive Santa!

I love the beautiful things that surround me. I’ve been here for 22 years and there has not been one day that I don’t want to come to work. I also love my happy customers!
